So much has happened.....

I don't even know where to start....it has been so long since I have blogged last and so much has happened! I guess I will just pick up where the last post left off! After Easter Q and U got married at PCA! This was an extremely exciting event. The kids were all dressed up in their Sunday Best to witness the nuptials! Here are a couple of pictures....

Next came quite an incident. Lucas and his Daddy decided to play golf one afternoon and their plans kind of took a turn for the worse. The cart boy brought them their cart and Lucas loaded his golf bag and while his Dad was loading his, Lucas jumped into the cart and which starting rolling. Matt jumped in and since Lucas could not reach the peddle Matt reached over with his foot and pushed the brake which caused the cart to jerk a little while taking a turn down hill. Lucas fell right out on his back and hit his head. Matt took him to the ER of Baylor Frisco, because he thought Lucas was not acting normal. A CT Scan later Children's Hospital downtown was sending an ambulance to move him to their hospital. So now Lucas has a pretty good size skull fracture and we go back this Thursday for our next scan to make sure he is healing properly. If all goes well he gets his activity restrictions removed!! So if you think about it say a little prayer for him this week...we are praying for a clean scan! So here are some pictures of Lucas in the hospital at Children's....

So since Lucas has been on restricted activity which has meant no PE, recess, swimming lessons, T Ball and rough housing of any sort. We have gone bowling, watched a lot of movies, played "gently" in the back yard and oh yeah lots of Wii!!! Here are a couple more pictures.....

And then there was Mother's Day which was very nice. I forgot to take any pictures but we had a great weekend. And then there was Lucas' last field trip for the school year. They went to the park for the day and had an All American Picnic of Hot Dogs, chips, Water, and a cookie! And of course lots of fun! Now I know Lucas was not exactly supposed to be playing at the park with the cracked skull and all but I could not stand to let him miss out on his last field trip with his friends! And he is showing no signs of any further damage... so here are the pictures from the field trip....

And last but not least here is a shout out to Daddy who is fly fishing in Wyoming today...he will be there for work until Friday so we miss him a whole lot! Get back soon and catch some fish or at least come up with some good stories to tell!

Please excuse the fact that we had just finished eating lunch in our PJs and I don't really know how to edit the screaming out of the begining of the video. I had left Georgia to finish the rest of her lunch at the table and when I walked back into the kitchen I found her sitting on the table chomping on some Cheetos! I should add that she climbs on EVERYTHING!! So it has been very hard to teach her we don't sit "on" the table we sit "at" the table. So here she is sitting on the table and her new word is "cheese" everytime I get my camera out. I think it is pretty cute!
Matt has been out of town working all week so the kids and I have been home alone! It has been a busy week and I am so glad tomorrow is Friday! And even more excited that Matt will be home Saturday morning! Oh, and Lucas has his first Tball game this Saturday.....two games actually....I know there is a baseball term for that but it is late and I cannot think of what it is called. So, Matt I hope you got your sleep this week because the kiddos are so ready for you to get home and play!
And Mary Nell I am very sorry it has been so long since the last post! Hope the video makes up for it! I should have some Tball footage for the blog by the weekend

Tubes!

That's right Georgia has a new set of tubes in her sweet little ears! This news is a little late but she got her tubes put in Friday morning at 6:50 AM! She has had an one ear infection after another since November and we have been on a continous round of antibiotics. And fussy....I cannot even begin to describe the days we have had! But now she seems to be doing a ton better! I cannot imagine how painful it must have been for her to have constant ear pain...and she could barely hear out of one ear. Anyway, I took some pictures of her that morning while waiting for her turn in the OR! DId I mention that it only took 10 minutes for the Dr to finish!!! That is amazing to me. And that poor Lucas had get up at 4:30 AM and still go to school that day! He seriously was a trooper....and he got his "Class Sticker" which means he was working extra hard to be good! And his teacher told me that afternoon that he had his friends pray for his sister and her "new ears"! So Sweet! So here are some of the pictures....

I thought I might multitask while I do one of my favorite things.....watch the Oscars! I totally look forward to this night every year! I know that is sad but I LOVE looking at all the beautiful dresses! I love watching Hollywood all dressed up! So anyway, this post is supposed to catch up you up on some of the things going on around the Harrington Household. Georgia is now 15 months old! She is growing up crazy fast. And fiesty, she has a little attitude right now but she is truly a blessing to our family! Right now she is still not saying much of anything that we can understand but I am so not going to worry about it because I stressed about it with Lucas, since he was not understandable until he was two, and now we can not get a word in he is talking ALL the time! So here are a few pictures from the past couple of weeks........

Lucas Ice Skating

What did you do for Valentine's Day? Buy some chocolate? Maybe some roses?
Well not us, we decided to head over to the local Ice Rink, and let Lucas try out the skating.
He has taken some interest in hockey and has been begging to go skate, so that is what we did. Here is a short little clip of what our nearly 1.5 hours on the ice was like.

Georgia's Big Girl Hair Do

Don't laugh but I had no idea how to fix Georgia's hair no that is getting longer. So after some "little girl hair do" classes I got from so friends that have girls, this is what we got! I thought it was pretty darn cute! She is obviously not very happy about it in one of these pictures but I swear she reallys likes her new style. She just kept staring in the mirror touching her little fountain of hair. So anyway, Payten I am sorry there are no new videos yet. Maybe we can get some new footage tomorrow.

What have we been up to?

Well Matt was gone all of last week so the kids and I toughed it out by ourselves...which is not that bad but we did miss Daddy! We had an ice storm, like most others did, on Tuesday and Wednesday but as always it was nice and warm by the weekend. We had a birthday party for a 2 year old on Friday night and then it was back to the house to bake cupcakes and cook for a baby shower the next morning. We had a Shower for Amy Dean Saturday morning which was interesting because we did it through Skype! She got to watch her entire shower on the computer and we all got to see her. Matt hooked my laptop up to the TV so we could chat and get a chance to see her all preggo!!! It was so much fun...now I just have to haul all of her "goodies" to the Post Office to mail them to her. We are very excited to see Miss Lauren Paige Dean in her cute little outfits and bows! And then of course today is the Super Bowl which I will have to admit I have paid not attention too even though it is on in our house right now. So I think it is the Cardinals and the Steelers playing so I will randomly select the Steelers to be rooting for just for the simple fact that I prefer the northeast to the southwest. So that is about all for us... And of course I will post some pictures of the kids from this past week! Have a GREAT Monday!

Snowing In Paris!!!!

Stephanie's wish was to see snow in Paris. Well after 5 days of sub-freezing weather and a little flurry out in the Loire Valley, we got an all out snow storm today in Paris.

Normandy and the Catacombs of Paris

Yesterday we did an all day trip of the Normandy Region of France. We started out in the small town of Roen and from there went on to see all the beaches of Normandy. We started out at Sword Beach where the British troops came in and then headed on to Gold Beach where the Canadians came in and then Juno where more British and then the last two were the famous Omaha and Utah Beaches where the American troops arrived. It was more than breathtaking and freezing cold! You could even see the huge holes in the ground where the bombs landed...It gave D Day a whole new meaning for me. We also visited the American cemetary off of Omaha beach.

And then today we slept in a little and then headed out to the Catacombs of Paris. The story goes one of the cemetaries here in Paris was creating some health problems so they decided to move the bones of the dead to an underground crypt to keep people in Paris healthy. It was pretty amazing to say the least. And then we headed over to the Louvre to hang out for a while, mainly because we wanted to warm up a little. There we headed off to see Napolean's apartments because all the other time I have been in Paris they have always been under construction. So I finally got to see them and they did not disappoint! So here are some pictures of the past couple of days.

Driving through the Loire Valley Region

Today we got up early and packed a few snacks and headed out to tour some chateaux. The Loire Valley region is know for its chateaux. Chad did all the driving which was entertainment in itself! We visited cities such as Chambord, Chenonceau, Blois, and Ambois. The countryside is beautiful even in the Winter. It actually snowed most of the day but did not really stick to the ground. It has been sooo cold here!!! And tomorrow we will be on the coast which will be even colder! We are headed to Normandy tomorrow and are going to stop at all the WWII beaches. And of course duck into some little coastal towns for fun! Au revoir.

Wake up...It's 2PM

Yes, that heading is right. After leaving DFW at 5 PM, taking a 9 hour flight, arriving in Paris at 10 am and hitting the streets to with Chad and Amy, celebrating New Years at the Eiffel Tower, fighting traffic back home, we finally crashed at 3:30 am...

So for those that are wondering what the big deal is there, with time changes and all that jazz we were up for 36 hours.

Luckily (for my pocketbook & rest) Paris was virtually shutdown today, so we had already planned on sleeping in. Little did we know it would be until 2PM in the afternoon.

With all that we have had a nice day today hanging with Chad & Amy at thier Chateau.

We are heading to the Loire Valley tomorrow morning to do some sightseeing so check back later for some more photos of our New Years adventure.

Sparkling Eiffel Tower

Here is my attempt of the Eiffel Tower sprarkling. It changed from blue back to its normal golden lights for the new year! It was blue because France's president was president of the EU for the past six months...now that he is not now they changed it back to it normal color. So anyway...I hope this movie works.

Today is my 30th Birthday! Yes I am older but I would like to think with age comes wisdom so I must be wise now right? But today is also Grandparents day at PCA and Lucas has been Star Student of the Week also! I need to get some pictures of this from my mom...I was not allowed to go because it was "Grandparents Day" not "Mommy's Day"! So moving on to the night....my sweet, loving husband surprised me with a GREAT birthday party! Catered by Rudy's BBQ and some of my sweet friends and family were there! Along with this party came a very unexpected gift of DIAMOND EARRINGS!!!! Yes I am very excited about these! Mostly because Matt did this all on his own. It was a perfect day!

Lucas' First Homecoming

These are just a couple of pictures of the Homecoming Festivities! It was quite a morning at PCA! Lucas got to watch the parade with all of his friends and then we all headed down to the football field for the pep rally. They really did a great job getting the little ones involved. PreK through Kindergarten got to sit on the track to watch while the everyone one else was in the stands. Lucas loved every minute of it! Georgia was also there and she thought she was just as big as all the other kids! She is really getting better at walking. And Lucas loves to show her off...I just don't know if she appreciates it right now!

Georgia's New Tricks

We have had quite a few little changes around the house where Georgia is concerned. Sunday we finally lowered her crib to the lowest level it will go. This is a good thing though because I came into her room to get her that morning and she was hanging over the side of the crib calling for someone to get her out! Then the big news is she has taken a couple of steps! She can stand by herself quite well but just Monday she added a couple of steps to that little trick! She is by no means a walker yet but she is making progress. She would still rather crawl most of the time. Once I figure out how to get video on here I will add some video of her couple of steps. So I just thought I would add a few pictures of her big girl self! She is quite proud of her accomplishments!

Nine Months of Georgia

This is really a late post because tomorrow Georgia will be 10 months old! Wow how the times flies. You think it goes fast with the first one and it goes even faster with the second. So I thought better late than never to write a little about Georgia's ninth month of life! It is hard to believe that we have only had this little butter bean for nine months....I can hardly remember life without her. So right now she is cruising, babbling like crazy, she has 7 teeth, she is standing on her own for about 10 seconds or so, walks if she is holding on to your hands, and loves to head back to a bedroom and open drawers and pull every article of clothing out and then scamper off to the next room and do it again before you realize she has been a little too quiet! We love her like crazy! Lucas has named her "Zazu" for some odd reason...I am not sure where the name came from! He like to make up things right now. I am not sure how I feel about the name but she laughs like crazy lady every time he calls her by that name.

These pictures are from a day that we went to feed ducks at the pond. I thought they were cute. She is really starting to look like a baby girl! She has always looked so much like Lucas!

Six Years!

Matt and I celebrated our six year anniversary this past Sunday! I came home to two dozen roses Sunday! What a sweet husband! I feel so blessed to have married such an awesome man who loves the Lord and me and his family. God has blessed us in so many ways over the past six years it is amazing to sit down and look back on them all. Of course the two big ones would be the birth of Lucas and then Georgia! We have been surrounded with loving families and friends who are always there to support us.

Thank you Matt, for being such a great husband and Daddy! I can't imagine my life without you. I know God has even more incredible things in store for us as we continue our life together. I love you like crazy!

The Roof! The Roof! The Roof is NOT on Fire!!!

Sorry no pictures of the little ones on this post. Just thought I would share a little story. I am traveling for work the past two days and last night about 12:30 am I get a call from Stephanie. At first, I am thinking she fell asleep and just woke up and realized we hadn't talked and wanted to say "Good Night". I know how sweet. Well as I answer the phone to hear alarms, and hear beating on something, the neighbors door, she is calmly telling me that she evacuated the house because all the fire alarms are going off. O.K. you got my attention now, as I am 4 hours away and already getting dressed to see if I can set a new land/speed record on getting home!!! Stephanie being the ever so calm and collected self, wakes up the neighbors, calls 911 and gets Frisco's finest fire fighters out to the house. The fire firefighters according to eye witnesses were very polite and very courteous and completely checked the house from top to bottom for any signs of fire or distress. After finding nothing, they assured Stephanie that nothing was wrong, maybe a faulty wire or battery in an alarm. They did change out the batteries and told Stephanie that she did great in getting out the house and staying calm.
Long story, short. Stephanie did great and we now recommend you change the batteries on your smoke alarms twice a year.

First Day!!!!

The first day of REAL school! I must say Lucas seemed so much older this morning! I know he is only 4 but the fact that he is going to a real school this year just makes me feel like he is growing up sooo fast! He relunctantly woke up this morning to put on his school uniform for the first time and he looked so cute! Even though it is just Navy shorts and a white polo it seemed more sophisticated than his normal attire of camo shorts from the GAP and a t-shirt! Then we got Georgia dressed and fed. And then it was time to leave after a short photo shoot...and I mean short as in about 5 pictures was about all he would allow me to take! We got to school and he found his table and his seat! We said our good byes and gave kisses and hugs and then Georgia and I were scooted off to the "BooHoo, Yahoo Breakfast"! I did not cry though! But I will admit once I got Georgia loaded up and we headed back to the house I was a little sad that my summer with both of the kiddos at home was over! Now I am not saying I did not enjoy my time alone with Georgia today, but it was a little bittersweet.
So when I came back to pick him through the carpool, which is the greatest thing on earth!!!, he was so excited to tell me about his day and who he played with! They took a little tour of the school by way of hunting down a little mouse that had taken a bite out of a cookie! Lucas LOVED this! His teacher had planted cookies that had had a bite taken out of them around the school as clues and then when he got back to his classroom the kids all had cookies at their desk and a little mouse! Lucas was way impressed. So needless to say he wants to go back tomorrow but he does not have school again until Friday! He might be a little disappointed in the morning!

Meet the Teacher!

Lucas is in Mrs. Armstrong's class! Yeah!!! Today Lucas got to meet his new teacher and some new friends. He was not sure about going in at first...in fact his words were "These are not my friends, I think I will stay out here for a little while." So Matt sat outside the door with him until he saw other kids go inside and start having a little fun. He perked up pretty quickly. I was a little worried of that exact thing. He has been in CLC for the past couple of years and has made some really great friends all of which are not attending PCA this year for various reasons. I know he will adjust quickly though. This is one kid who has never had a problem making friends! So he was sooo excited about all the things in the classroom that had his name on them!
Mrs. Armstrong did a great job at making the kiddos feel really special! I took several pictures of the room! This year Lucas will be doing Science, Social Studies, Bible Class, Reading and Writing, Art, and Spanish and then once a week he gets to go to the Computer Lab, Music, PE, and then Chapel on Fridays! He is already to go on Wednesday morning! Now we will just see how easy it is to get both kids up and dressed and at school by 8:00 AM!!! We will have to leave the house by 7:30! YIKES!!! Well here a few pictures of today! We are praying for Lucas and his teachers for a great year and that Lucas will fall in love with learning and most importantly the Lord a little more everyday!

The Party is Over...

Okay so maybe a train party at an outdoor train museum on a day the temperature reads 104 degrees is not such a great idea.....or is it? We had a blast and we sweated ALOT and the cake melted! It was really fun. The kids had a great time and I cannot believe that Tuesday I will have a four year old!!!! Lucas said it was a "great day Mom!", so it was all worth it. Thank you to all of our family and friends who sweated it out and made Lucas' 4th Birthday Party one to remember! Here are some of our pictures from the big day!

Lucas' Week Of Fun!

Lucas got to go stay with his Jack and Nellie last week and I am just now getting some pictures up from his week of fun! He stayed the whole week in San Antonio and had a BLAST! He went to the Natural Bridge Caves, Sea World, and the New Braunfels Children's Museum. And I think he spent a lot of time out at his Aunt Nancy's swimming! When asked what he saw down in the caves he replied " a lot of trash cans". I guess the emphasized keeping all trash in the trash cans so as not to hurt the natural cave. His favorite part of Sea World was "getting a drink and the penguins". Some times I wonder about him....
He is standing here now telling me his favorites!!!! ( Yes he is up past his bedtime!) He also wanted me to add that he Loved the trains and walking??? And he wanted me to mention the roller coaster, the dolphins and the Log Ride. And he had fun eating with Baby Payten, Erin, Chris, Jack and Nellie.

Georgia Claire at 8 Months

So I decided I needed to update everyone on what Georgia is up to since she will be 9 months within a couple of weeks! I cannot even believe she is already this old! Time flies so much faster with the second child...or at least that is the way it seems. Okay, so here is what she is doing right now....
-Crawling EVERYWHERE
-Pulling up on things
-Babbling like crazy
-she says Ma Ma (okay at least I hear it!)

No seriously she really does say a version of these words when she is crawling toward us!
-She loves her swim lessons
-She is already eating quite a few table foods like...cheerios, goldfish, green beans, mashed potatoes, sometimes bananas
-She still does not take naps really well...but have you met her brother?? He does not quite understand the meaning of quiet.
-Which leads me to my favorite...she is absolutely smitten with her big brother Lucas!
-She has 4 teeth...2 on bottom, 2 on top

I think that just about covers it! Georgia is really starting to show her own personality now. She is a very loving and determined baby girl! I think I might have another "Strong Willed Child" on my hands. Oh well, back to my favorite Dobson book!

Georgia, you have been such a blessing to our family! We thank God for you every day and pray that you grow to love the Lord a little more every day! You teach us something new about the love of God everyday and we praise the Lord for that blessing! We love you Sweet Miss!

Weekend in Athens

We had a lot of fun this past weekend. We got to play at the lake and spend some time with Matt's family. We met everyone in Athens for the wedding of a family friend. So we all stayed at the David's lake house on Lake Athens. When I say "all" I mean Matt and I, Lucas, Georgia, Jack, Mary Nell, Erin, Chris, Payten, Brad, and Mindy! It was some tight quarters but we enjoyed it. We ended up spending most of Saturday in the Lake and then went to the wedding that night. Lucas had a blast! Carrie and Lindsey Addcock were in town and Lucas LOVES every minute he gets to see them! Well here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Tonight has been so relaxing and non-chaotic which is a nice change. We had a little summer thunderstorm tonight...I love summer thunderstorms! The kids are both in bed and I am catching up on all my friends blogs. Matt is on the couch watching golf. So I thought I would just put a few of my current favorite pictures up. I really have good intentions of updating the blog weekly but some how time just gets away from me. So I will just give the highlights of the past couple of weeks. I drove Lucas and Georgia to Arkansas last week to stay with my parents. I actually stayed until Wednesday and my parents brought the kids back Friday night. Anyway, they had a lot of fun...Lucas went fishing and played with his friend Kenny just about everyday! Georgia basically took advantage of the fact that if she let out the littlest peep of distress my dad would come running and pick her up. Here a few pics from that week....

So now this past weekend we had a fun Forth of July! Matt was home all day Friday and we basically just played with kids. It is amazing how much fun they have with a $4 pool and a $10 slip and slide! So we stayed in the back yard and played most of the early afternoon. After naps we went next door to hang out with our neighbors to swim and grill out and then watch the fireworks. We have an awesome view of the fireworks from the front of our house or our neighbors. They shoot them off at the Dr Pepper stadium but the traffic is horrible so we opt to sit at home and watch. Georgia fell asleep during the finale and Lucas was a bit delirious so both kids were in bed and asleep by the end of the show. So that is about it! I hope everyone had a great Fourth and remembered to thank God that we live in such a free and beautiful country! And here are a few pictures from the Fourth....

A Busy Saturday

As we get ready to start a new week, I am reflecting on a great weekend at the Harrington household! Friday night we had some of our friends, the Byrds, over for dinner. Stephanie and I went and got a manicure and pedicure while the boys watched the three kiddos and grilled our dinner! Saturday we got up and did a little yard work...and when I say yard work I mean we worked outside from about 9 am to 3 pm!!! Matt mowed the yard and I trimmed the bushes and the kids played in the yard. Then we decided to redo our flowerbeds, which I think turned out GREAT! While getting cleaned up for the Luau in our neighborhood we got a call from our friends in France, the Deans! It is always good to hear from them. Then it was on to the Luau for some Tahitian dancing, hot dogs, water slides and swimming! Needless to say the kids passed out once they had baths! Today we had an amazing worship service at PWood! Our BF lesson was great too....our lesson was on Noise and how to make sure we had time everyday to sit in silence and be with the Lord! So now I am a woman on a schedule! I have scheduled my days out so everyday I am taking full advantage of the time the Lord has blessed me with! Now I just need lots of prayer to stay on this schedule:)

On another note...this did not happen over the weekend, more like last week, Georgia turned 7 months!!!! Time has seemed to go by CRAZY fast with this little girl! She is really trying to crawl right now, oh and we just got two little teeth poking through on the bottom. She has more hair and is really developing her own personality...she is so nosey!! She has to know everything going on around her! Lucas is still in complete love with her...trust me I know this will not last forever but it is so sweet right now. And Lucas is just the same crazy kid who is so excited it is summer! He wants to swim everyday and has more energy than you can imagine. He is still a train fanatic so we play trains at least once a day! He is just growing up so fast. Matt and are always amazed at what he comes up with or says. I feel like it would be hilarious just to follow him around for a day with a video camera!

Lucas' Last Day of CLC

CLC stands for Christian Learning Center in case anyone is wondering. Today was his last day! Next year he will go to PCA (Prestonwood Christian Academy) which will be at the same church but he will be going 3 days a week instead of 2 and he will go the full school day as opposed to 9-2. OK. It is not what you think...CPS has cleared us of any mistreatment. (No they were not called, No we have not been questioned, but we have got some looks out in public!!!) Apparently this is standard procedure and outcomes for 3 year old boys.

As if Monday nights episode wasn't enough, Lucas decided Tuesday at swim lessons to bust his chin wide open on the side of the pool. No one is really sure how this happened and Lucas tells us "It just happens"...

So after a trip to the after hours clinic, a little rinsing and steralization, the Doctor applied a little super glue and off we went. (side note: As the doctor was talking to us, Lucas decides to jump off a 4 foot high table onto the floor...NO FEAR)

On Monday night, Lucas found out what happened when face meets pavement. He was out front riding scooters with Trevor when he lost control and flipped head first over the handle bars. I am just now getting Easter pics posted even though it is so late! So I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. We had a great one! Lucas and Georgia got their pictures taken A LOT! This year we spent Easter in Greenwood, AR, with my family. Lucas and I made our "Easter Story Cookies" the night before and he was way more interested this year than last! It was fun! He even ate one this time! On Easter morning he took a bite and I told him how the hollow inside of the cookie was like the Jesus' tomb being empty and then he handed me the other half back and said that was gross! Baby Dedication

I know this is old news but better late than never! We had baby dedication a couple of Sundays ago. We are still planning on recreating the moment as a family for pictures because Georgia had some issues that morning. Right before we headed into the church to pray with the pastor and dedicate our beautiful baby girl to the Lord, she had a major blow out! Not to be too gross but it was all over her back all the way up to her sleeves! But the show had to go on because the grandparents were all in town and we were about to walk into the sanctuary. So I strategically placed a burp cloth behind her so as to not get anything gross on Matt's suit. Anyway, we had the dress cleaned so maybe this Sunday we will get up earlier and take some family pics with her in her dedication dress! The important part was taken care of already, we stood before our family and our church family and promised the Lord that we would do our very best to raise Georgia in a Christian home and teach her about the love of Jesus and pray for her to commit her life to the Lord everyday.

Georgia Smiles

Georgia is 2 months old and has just started really smiling a lot! She can hold her head up pretty well and is cooing when you talk to her. She is still pretty fussy but I think it is getting a little better. Maybe the medicine is finally starting to do its magic. Lucas is still love struck with her! He is constantly wanting to love on her which is a good thing and a bad thing. He is not the most gentle 3 year old little boy! I can really tell she is starting to recognize our voices too. Sometimes she gets a look of terror on her face when she hears Lucas come running in yelling "Georgia Claire your big brother is here!", that phrase is usually proceeded with a very wet kiss and not so gentle hug. Anyway, I posted some pictures I caught of her smiling. We had just gotten home from church and she was in the mood for a photo shoot!

Well the Harrington family had another wonderful Christmas with family and friends. We started out our Christmas visits by driving to Abilene, Texas, to visit Granny. Then we flew from Abilene to DFW to Fort Smith to visit my family. And then from Fort Smith back to DFW then to San Antonio to Matt's parent's house. I am sad to admit this but I do not have any really recent pictures of Georgia but these are just a couple of weeks old. And since I have not put anything up in a while they could be considered recent. Anyway, things are going great around here. It is a little harder than I had expected to get anything done with one running around like a crazy man and another that cries every time she is put down. Georgia is 4 weeks old now! She had her 2 wk appointment a couple of weeks ago. She was 10 pounds and healthy. She does have a touch of reflux which explains her frequent crying spells. She is on meds now so hopefully we will have this little problem under control soon. Lucas loves her like crazy which means he is constantly trying to help with her. I am very thankful for this but he forgets he is not quite big enough to tote here around. So here are a couple of pictures and I will put some up tonight from today. Yes, the first night is over and it went really good. Little Miss went to the nursery around 10 and slept till 1. After a little late night snack, Georgia headed back to the nursery and slept from 1:30 to 5:30. This of course let Mom & Dad get some rest for the night.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

This year for Halloween Lucas turned into the Itsy Bitsy Spider! And to anyone who asked what he was he performed the song! I have to admitt I thought it was really cute! Our church does an amazing Fall Festival so Lucas had a blast on the Adventure Train and all the inflatables they bring in! So anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures of Lucas as Itsy Bitsy.

Oh, and the weekend before Halloween, we took Lucas and his cousin Peyten to a little pumpkin patch in our neighborhood. I did not get many good pictures though. It was kind of hard to get them to both look at me at the same time and then add smiling on top and that, well you can see for yourself!

New Day....New Church

This morning we met up with Rev. Middleton from Pleasant Hill and he wanted us to help at his mothers's house today. After driving over there and seeing the total destruction of a house, it was decided that No work could be done on the house. Basically, no one had stepped in the house in over 2 years. There was still food in the refrigarator, which was sitting upside down in the kitchen. So what did we do, take the day off you think....NO way.
About the same time we were getting a little somber about the day and trip, Rob from Ignite/HimNi called and asked if we could spare a few to help with his church. Rob is working on restarting a church in Uptown off of Magazine Street called Valence Baptist Church. It is pretty cool story and I will go in depth later. But right now, just know we worked all day the church, which did not get flooded from Katrina but no less had not been touched or cleaned up since the storm. We cleaned, we mowed, we pulled weeds, we got dirty. The awesome part about the whole day was as we worked people from the neighborhood would come up and want to help, want to know about the church and really wanted to know when the church was going to open back up. It has been dead for about 12 years. Rob was blown away by the reaction of the area, and we got to be there as the first group in and really be involved in the rebuilding of what could be a very special church.

Well it is time to go to dinner so I better get dressed and meet up with the group.

This also happened a while back but again I failed to post it on out blog. Matt turned 30 on October 2! We had a quiet dinner at Rudy's that day as a family but the weekend was full of fun! Friday Matt went to the season opener of the Dallas Stars and watched from the Ford Suite curtosey of Drew. Saturday morning was a long game of golf and then his SURPRISE birthday cookout with some friends and family! I think he ended up having a great 30th birthday! Demo - Day 1

We stared the gutting of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church this morning. 16 of us hit the inside with force and had the entire thing gutted and stripped down by noon. It got really dusty and really dirty but it was all good. We only had to send one to the doctor, a minister of course. He took a board to the face. Don't ask, just know it happened.

Anyway, we are currently at the seminary cleaning up and getting ready to hook up with HimNi again. Rob & Greg are going to show us around the lower 9th and some of the worst hit areas.

New Orleans Mission

This morning I left from Prestonwood's parking lot with 15 other Young Marrieds and we headed to New Orleans. Several months ago our minister brought a mission trip to good to pass up, to go and see the destruction in New Orleans and help out any way we could. Well after 9 hours of driving and countless bumps and swerves in the van, we arrived.

This evening we hooked up with a group call HimNI. Check them out on the web at www.himni.org. Basically it is a monthly meeting for young adults in New Orleans to worhip and fellowship. It was cool setting and we got to hang out with the brothers, Rob & Greg, who started the program. They have a huge passion for Christ and really for the young adults of New Orleans.

Anyway, I am going to try to update this through out the trip with photos and thoughts from what went on. Tomorrow we are going to go gut a church that has sat vacant since Katrina. Should be fun!!!!

Georgia Has a Birthday

Pee-Pee in the Potty

Lucas now being the big 3 year old boy that he is, has decided that he would pee-pee in the potty. Not sure if this is because he is tired of wearing pull-ups or the fact that he gets chocolate each time he goes in the potty. For me it would be for the chocolate.

Anyway, this a big development as he has gone the last couple of days without incident. Now if I could just get him to mow the yard and trim the hedges...

New House, New Braunfels, Not so new ER...

This Labor day weekend we headed down to New Braunfels to see my parents new house. After 26 years in Athens, they moved to New Braunfels last year and been living in an apartment. Well last week thier house was completed and we went down to see it. Man, was it nice. Well worth the wait and time in an apartment. In my very humble opinion it is super nice. Nice job Parents.
During our visit with the parents, Stephanie decided to get sick though. Not just a little head cold sick but a major, see what you a had for lunch later that day sick, if you know what I mean. Of course, since my parents are new to town we didn't know any doctors or hospitals to go to. So about 8:30 Sunday night we googled hospitals and found McKeena Memorial. Walking up to the door I could see Stephanie thinking, "I would rather die, then go in there!!!". However, we got into the ER and they shuttled Stephanie up to the Labor & Delivery. Once up there all was good, the nurses were super nice and the rooms very clean. Several bags of IV later we got to leave. The best part about the whole deal was I got a new lawn mowing glass!!!
Oh what a weekend...

Then to top things off, I felt compelled to get sick yesterday and spend the day at home, altenating between bed, bathroom & couch.

Anyway you want to put it Stephanie & I have now been married for 5 years. Go us. It has been a fun time this first five. We had the great blessing of Lucas and are about to add little Georgia to the mix. We have had the privelage to travel and enjoy the world and country. We have owned a home (or two). Bought a car or 3! ok maybe 4. Spent holidays with families that love us and set examples of what a Christian marriage should be. But most of all we have got to spend the past 5 years together doing it all.

Just think what the next 5 has in store!!!!

Lucas tonight did the unthinkable, he out fished his Dad!!!! Lucas & I went down to the neighborhood pond tonight to spend a little time together before I head out of town for work and he caught a whopper. Yes, he caught the only fish of the night, and to top it all off, he did it all by himself. Well almost, I cast the line out, but he reeled it in. In fact, I wasn't paying much attention, as I had a hook in the water also. He kept yelling, "Daddy I got a fish, Daddy I got a Nemo." Of course he yells this everytime he reels in so I wasn't thinking much about it, until I look over and yep there it is. His very first fish.

This was the first year I was brave enough to make his cake. He wanted a Choo Choo cake and I just happened to find a really cute cake mold, so I tested my cake decorating skills. We also had 48 cupcakes! Lucas took over the decorating on those! We had a lot of fun thanks to all of our family and friends for coming over to help us celebrate. I have more really cute pictures of the kids playing that I will try to get on here tomorrow. So keep checking back for more birthday pictures!

New Chair...

This last weekend we loaded up the family and drove out to Abilene to pick up a new chair. Granny was nice enough to donate one of her chairs from the study to our living room. It was great getting to see Granny for even just the short time we were out there. Anyway, just wanted to throw a picture up so everyone can see the new addition to the living room.

"One big mess up".

Let me explain a little. I am sitting in my room here in Houston were the humidity is 1000%, with a air conditioner is not working, sweating the pounds away. I can not leave my room, because I have no room key. However, my tv works and I have "new decor".

You see, I travel to Houston a couple of times a month. I always stay at the same La Quinta. This time I pull up and they guy behind the desk is obvouisly having a bad day. You see the motel was updating and today was the launch of the new rooms. Apparently, they forgot to double check everything in the new rooms. He was getting all kinds of complaints and his only defense was "but it has new decor". I check in, head to my room and low and behold my key doesn't work. So I go back to the front desk, and the poor guy already knew what was wrong. I plead my case he heads up with a master key and lets me in. The kicker is If I leave the room, and the door shuts, I can not get back in. So I sit here locked in my room. To make things worse, the new AC Unit is not blowing cold. At least my internet and TV work.
My boss is in the room next to me, his AC works, his door works, but his TV does not work.
This place is having problems....I am sure there will be a few complaints filed tonight.

But I do have to say, the new decor is nice......

We made it! We have returned to dry land from our first big vacation with Lucas, after seven days at sea to Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Cozymel! It was a blast! Thanks Granny for the wonderful vacation.
Matt's Granny took all of her Hitt Family shipmates (her daughters and their spouses, grandkids and spouses and great grandkids on this cruise to celebrate her upcoming 80th Birthday! We enjoyed every minute of it! Here are a couple of pics I could get to quickly. I will post more of our nicer pictures later.

Thank you Grandma for the cute outfit you sent to Lucas! Now he tells us all about the Noah and the Ark every time he puts it on! Notice he has a new haircut too! We are hopeing it grows out quickly! That is the last time I try to cut his hair shorter...he just does not look like himself!

For the second time this month Lucas has been away from home for the week. However, this time Stephanie took off with him. They are up visiting the grandparents in Arkansas this week.

The house has been quite the past couple of nights and it will be nice to get them back home. The place just isn't the same without the little man running around causing havoc.

We have seen Mr. Lucas, as he has been on vacation in San Antonio. I fear for his mind though as I am afraid the Brother-in-Law and evil Sister have tried to brain wash him into a Spurs fan...I am troubled by the fact he now says "Go Spurs Go". Anyway, it has been a different week without the little blonde bomber running around. I know is Momma is ready to see him tonight.

And that is exactly what we did on Sunday. Lucas got to experience his very first Big League ball game. Well at least one team was big league (Boston Red Sox, not sure about the Rangers). The weather was absolutely perfect for a Sunday afternoon game and we all had a great time. Lucas was in heaven getting to watch baseball live. He clapped with the crowd, cheered when he was supposed to and I even think he booed the umps a couple of time.
All in all it was a great time and we will be ready to go again.

I feel very blessed this year on Mother's Day. I have an amazing husband who gave me a whole Saturday to myself which was so nice. Then Sunday we went to church and had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants followed by a day at the pool. I find myself having a hard time realizing how big Lucas is getting. The whole idea of him turning three this year just makes me want to cry everytime I think about it. So I thought I would post some of my favorite pics of him from way before I started this blog. I know this new baby growing inside me is going to be so lucky to have Lucas as a big brother. Okay so here are the pics and I hope every Mom had a wonderfully blessed Mother's Day!

Airports...Ipods...& Lines..

I have a question. Why do people start lining up at the Southwest gates 1 hour before boarding. They have a seat, they are going to get on the plane, what does it matter where in line you are? It makes me laugh at the herd mentality of people.
I also find it amazing that just about everyone in the airport, old and young, have little white earbuds and wires running from their head, myself included. I have to say the Steve Jobs may not rule the world but he definetly changed it with the Ipod.
Anyway, if you can not tell I am sitting in an airport right now, Lubbock International or whatever they call it. After being here the past 3 days I am ready to get on the plane and be home.
Sorry, once again for no pictures of Lucas....But I am bored, listening to my Ipod, sipping on my Venti Starbucks, typing on my laptop...waiting just like everyone else.....Just not in Line...
