A Lesson From A Two Year Old

Wow, Lucas has taught me a lot of things but this one really made me think. Matt is out of town tonight so it was just Lucas and I sharing some Macaroni and Cheese for dinner. Lucas was already sitting at the table with his bowl when I sat down with mine. I started to eat and was about to tell him what a good job he had done helping me make the dinner, when he looked at me and said "Mommy pway". Which means "Mommy pray" in toddler language. Wow! Matt and I have never done a really good job of being consistent with prayer at the dinner table, which I am sad to admit. So to hear him want to thank God for his dinner on his own made me so proud and embarassed at the same time! So, I am making a commitment to prayer at the dinner table. From now on no one eats until we "Pway"! I just thought that was worth sharing.

Happy Valentines Day

First of all let me just tell you that Lucas has been on a sugar high since yesterday! His preschool class had their Valentine's Day Party yesterday so he has had way too much candy! Our normal Wednesday is Bible Study Group for me and Tim's Tots for Lucas and then we come home and Lucas normally takes a nap. Well of course he can't not wind down today because of all the sugar he has ingested....so I told him he could lay in his playroom and watch a Thomas the Train movie. The whole idea was to REST! A little while later he comes to find me and shows me the art work he has done on his belly! Here are the pictures of his masterpiece. I am not sure what to call it yet...

Obviously, he is very proud of his art work. I hope these pics turn the right directions when I post this. I am still trying to figure out how everything works.

Today Matt and Lucas and I went to go feed the ducks in the pond down from our house. It was very cold today but we have to do this at least once a week because Lucas loves to feed the ducks! So Matt and I weathered the cold that did not seem to even phase Lucas!

Our First Blog Posting

So I decided to start this Blog so we could share what is going on in our lives with family and friends. I had been intending on starting this for a while now and I am just now getting around to doing it. My plan is to try to post something weekly....so we shall see how that goes. I think it will be fun to let everyone see pics of Lucas and our family (as soon as I learn to upload pics on here) and fun stories as they happen.
